What's for sale in Los Altos?

The homes inventory in Los Altos is outperforming that of many other Silicon Valley communities. The number of listed homes has risen consistently over the past three months, while inventory levels are barely maintaining – or shrinking – in other locales.The number of homes on the market was near a two-year low in December, with just 25 listings. That rose to 32 in January, 41 in February and 59 in March. The number of homes being bought is also on the rise: 13 sales were closed in January, 18 in February and 27 in March.

Currently, 17 properties are listed in Los Altos, including 13 single-family homes and four condos. Let’s look at four of these properties.

Prime Los Altos listing

The top property on the market is an attractive four-bedroom, three-bath home with regal stone step landscaping and a lush front lawn. Within 2,845 square feet is a roomy open floorplan with vaulted ceilings, an amazing great room and a well-appointed chef’s kitchen.

Listed for $4,800,000, this home on Nash Road near University Ave. includes a four-car garage, central heat and air, granite countertops in the kitchen and a gas-burning fireplace.

On the other end of the spectrum is a single-family home with four bedrooms and three baths located on Fallen Leaf Lane and selling for $1,789,000. Lots of nice amenities include new interior paint, hardwood floors in three of the bedrooms and new carpet in one bedroom and in the family room.

Other features that should make buyers pay attention are new light fixtures, a wood-burning fireplace in the family room, a security system, a workshop, new kitchen flooring and an attached garage that will accommodate oversized vehicles. Home size is 1,876 square feet.

Los Altos condos for sale

The prime condo on the market is listed for $1,498,000 and is located on El Camino Real. It has three bedrooms and two baths within 1,410 square feet. This ground-floor unit has been fully renovated with highlights including a formal entryway, stone accent wall in the living room, a gourmet kitchen, limestone surround fireplace and a master bedroom with walk-in closet and marble countertops in the private bath.

More moderately priced is a two-bedroom, two-bath condo on sale for $978,000 in a three-level complex with a secure formal lobby and underground parking. There’s a total of 1,092 square feet, and amenities include new carpet and paint, updated kitchen with granite countertops, remodeled bathrooms, private balcony with pool view and easy access to local restaurants, grocery stores, boutique shops and more. It is located on W. Edith Ave.
