Easter Egg Hunt at Burgess Park
The Easter Bunny is on his way to Burgess Park for a morning of fun for kids 8 years old or younger. Enjoy crafts, bounce houses and photographs with the Easter Bunny. March 26, 2016. Event runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Sponsors are the Menlo Park Fire Protection District and the Menlo Park Firefighters Association.
Easter Egg Hunt at Kelly Park
A second area Easter egg hunt on the Menlo Park events schedule will happen on March 26, 2016 at Kelly Park. This event will include a magic show, jelly bean guess and photos with the Easter Bunny. 10 a.m. to noon.
Kite Day is an annual day of excitement for the whole family as they join hundreds of others flying their kites in the skies over Menlo Park. You can purchase kites at the event. Held at Bedwell-Bayfront Park in late spring or early summer.
4th of July Parade and Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day by rigging up your wagon, bicycle or tricycle and joining other revelers in this popular parade down Santa Cruz Avenue, from the Chestnut Street parking lot to Burgess Park. Plenty of music, food and games. Parade starts at 11:45 a.m., so arrive early if you want to participate.
Summer Concert Series
The Menlo Park summer lights up at Freemont Park with a series of free concerts. Genres include country, jazz and rock from today and yesterday. Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets, food and drinks for a perfectly comfortable experience. Concerts typically are scheduled on select evenings between June and August and begin at 6:30. Menlo Movie Series
Late summer nights are alive under the stars with movies every Friday night. All movies are free, and attendees can bring chairs, blankets and food. Held in downtown on the Chestnut Paseo. For details, contact the City of Menlo Park at (650) 330-6600.
Get a jump on Halloween by being part of the annual Halloween Hoopla, a very popular offering on the Menlo Park events schedule. Put on your best costume and join a parade that winds its way to Freemont Park. There will be entertainment and fun activities at the park and trick-or-treating in downtown. Halloween Spooky Carnival
Great Halloween fun can be found at the Onetta Harris Community Center’s Spooky Carnival. Activities include lots of games, a costume contest, a candy guess and plenty of cool snacks. Everyone is invited to show up in costume. Get details from the City of Menlo Park, (650) 330-6600.
Breakfast with Santa
Enjoy a super pancake breakfast with Santa before the “big day” at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center. Bring something to take a picture with, and your child can pose for a photo with Santa himself. Get dates and times at (650) 330-6600.
Menlo Atherton Center for Performing Arts
There’s always something interesting going on at The Center for Performing Arts. Supported by the City of Menlo Park, the center puts on events such as holiday extravaganzas, kids music groups, movies and singing, lectures from authors and more. National Night Out
Menlo Park joins communities around the country in this effort to spread awareness of crime and discover methods to prevent it. The one-day event (ongoing annually since 1984) is perfect for block parties and socializing within your neighborhood to show solidarity in the desire to keep our streets free of crime. Pacific Fine Arts Festival
Since 1980, this exciting arts festival each spring features a wide variety of works from paintings and jewelry to photography and sculptures. It’s free to everybody and usually takes place over several consecutive weekend days. Held on Santa Cruz Avenue near El Camino Real and University Drive. Annual Connoisseur's Marketplace
Another great Menlo Park art show is the Connoisseur’s Marketplace, held on Santa Cruz Avenue, usually in the summer. Art and wine abound across two days as visitors browse the works of hundreds of west coast artists and enjoy entertainment, delectable snacks and the coolest micro-brewed beers. Menlo Park Sidewalk Fine Arts & Crafts Fall Fest
Here’s an invigorating way to spend a breezy fall day. It’s Menlo Park’s annual community festival with numerous artworks on display and for sale. There’s also lots of food and tons of fun for people of all ages. Contact the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce for more information at (650) 325-0920.
Summer Block Party
Mark your calendars for the annual block party along Santa Cruz Avenue, which is closed to traffic during the event. All the food, fun and socializing you can handle in a single night. Usually held in early summer. Call (650) 325-0920 for details.
Menlo Park Farmers Market
This vibrant farmers market runs year-round on Sundays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. You’ll find a huge selection of organic, California-grown produce as well as fish, eggs, preserves, honey, nuts and much more. Located downtown on Chestnut Street between Menlo and Santa Cruz avenues.
