Ravenswood Education Foundation, our 1% for Good Beneficiary | Q1 2018

The Sereno Group of Palo Alto is pleased to announce the Ravenswood Education Foundation as its recipient of its 1% For Good campaign for Q1 2018. Each quarter of every year, 1% For Good pledges one percent of its gross commissions to help fund the best efforts of our community-minded groups and charities that are dedicated to making positive impacts in the lives of  our local residents and families here in Silicon Valley.

The Ravenswood Education Foundation helps to ensure equitable, high-quality educational opportunities for all K-8 students enrolled in and attending schools within the Ravenswood City School District.  These schools are located in East Menlo Park and East Palo Alto.

Students being served by the Ravenswood City School District are:

87% Low income
65% English learners
44% Lack a permanent home environment

The premise of the Ravenswood Education Foundation is “Giving Close Goes Far.”  To enact that vision, the Foundation  empowers local leaders, elected officials, community partners, concerned citizens and some 600 volunteers to work “side-by-side” and support each and every 3,000 students and teachers within the Ravenswood City School District.
