2019 Colors of the Year

The major paint brands have come out with their lookbooks for 2019 and the colors they’re favoring are anything but basic. There’s warm, earthy oranges, a calming grey, and there’s a blue that’s guaranteed to make any space pop.  Whatever the look you’re going for, these paint colors are sure to add a special touch to your home.

Living Coral from Pantone

This warm shade of orange reminds me of a tropical sunset.  It’s bright and fun with golden undertones and it’s sure to liven up any living space.  But because it’s so bright, it’s best used as a backdrop for neutrals as a way to frame your furniture or cabinets in the living room or kitchen.

Metropolitan from Benjamin Moore

Light grey is a great way to introduce a neutral color to your pallet without using white or beige.  This light grey from Benjamin Moore is also glamorous and versatile, pairing well with warm or cool tones and wood or metal finishes. It’s calming nature makes it a great color for the bedroom.

Blueprint from Behr

This blue is a mid-tone blue with green and grey undertones.  It’s striking and pairs well with the jewel tones popular in interior design for 2019, working well both indoors and out.  To get the most out of this color, paint it in a room or area that gets a lot a light.

Cavern Clay by Sherwin-Williams

We’re used to seeing this warm terracotta color used in bohemian and American Southwest design often inspired by desertscapes.  But it can also provide a wonderful accent to a mid-century modern look with plush, bright blue accent chairs or a rug as contrast.  This clay color can even be used in a more classic design with white countertops and cabinetry in your kitchen.
